National Education Philosophy  Malaysia

"Education in Malaysia is an on-going efforts towards further developing the potential of individuals in a holostic and integrated manner, so as to produce individuals who are intelectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced and harmonic, based on a firm belief in and devotion to God. Such an effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and competent, who possess high moral standards and who are responsible and capable of achieving high level of personal well-being as well as being able to contribute to the harmony and betterment of the family, the society and the nation at large"

My Teaching Philosophy 

My teaching experience around 18 years, I had faced the primary school students and secondary school students. So many experiences I had gone through. Some are really hurting and some are still very happy to remember. Hurting experience made me stronger. I believe that.

One of the most difficult things I faced whenever teach the primary students is their environment. I had taught in a deep area at Perak which I can’t forget until now. The student won’t come to school and I had to go to their house and prepared them to come to school because their parents went to work. I taught them and gave them food to eat. They were very happy. Some of my student there already at Universities now and some of them already work and so on. But whenever I met them, they are happy and thanks to me. I am so happy and feel appreciated.

I believe that teaching is a very good career and I am really happy to be a teacher.

About the secondary school life, the most difficult moment was whenever I start teaching at a Chinese school. My school is a secondary school but 96% were Chinese students. I feel very difficult and had culture shock to start my journey there. After  8 years time, I now manage to continue my career there. Thanks to god.

About teaching biology at my school, I always used the power point presentation for them. At first they paid attention but now become less. I think I have to do something to make them interest. I plan to teach them as a game rather than a lesson. I had try but the preparation for that takes time. And also I cannot teach every lesson as a game. But student were very interested. As a teacher, I think, not only game method, we should always change our method of teaching. One method will make them boring.

Nowdays childrens are so advance and they had so much knowledge then us. So as educator we always have to increase our level. That one of the reason I am doing my masters. I am also dedicated to improving my students’ performance in their studies. I always think of a way to achieve the objective of the lesson. I try as much as possible to use simple, compact theories. I prefer to use everyday language to convey the sciences process before I introduced new science terms. Understanding is more important than cramming. By understand the concept first; students can remember it for a long time.

ICT is another most important part which we should know as a teacher. I always use computer in my lesson. I will the student to go and access internet to get information. Sometimes, their parents also help them to do their work if related with internet. Learning freely will make them comfortable and feel better. I think we should come out with something new every time we enter the class.

My Teaching Goals:

Goal 1: In the classroom, I can enhance my students’ performance. All my biology  Students can score A in STPM exam. Beside this, I also target my art stream’s students can 100% pass in general science subject.

Goal 2: In the classroom, I want my student enjoy themselves a lot and always wait for my lesson.
